The degree application begins the process of awarding your degree. Diplomas are printed when all degree requirements are met.
To submit your Application for Degree, you should log into the My MC portal on the MC website.
There, you will find the online application under the QuickLaunch Navigation column by opening the Graduation folder and clicking on “Apply to Graduate.” Simply follow the instructions on the online form and your application will be submitted.
NOTE: If you have already submitted an application, you should not submit a duplicate application. If you have previously submitted an online application for your degree and you need to change your graduation date or other information, you will be unable to do this online. Please contact the Registrar's Office.
If you are seeking dual degrees (such as JD/MBA) or if you have more than one curricula (such as a double major) you must submit a separate application for each degree/curriculum.

Graduating seniors who have not filed a Application for Degree by the published deadline may be charged a $50.00 late fee in addition to the graduation fee ($50 late fee applied to undergraduate level only).
Degree application deadlines
The following deadlines apply to ALL students:
- December 2014 Priority Deadline - Friday, September 5, 2014
- December 2014 Commencement PARTICIPATION DEADLINE - Friday, November 7, 2014 (Students applying after this date will not be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremonies and cannot apply for graduation online.)
Each degree candidate has been assessed a graduation fee of $70.00 (undergraduate), $100.00 (graduate), or $115 (law). This fee covers graduation-related expenses including your diploma, diploma cover, tassel, commencement exercise and rental of your cap, gown, and academic hood (for graduates and law). For students not participating in the commencement exercise, the fee covers shipping of the diploma by certified mail to the address provided in the degree application. The graduation fee is charged to your student account and is payable to the Business Office. If circumstances cause you to change your graduation date after the fee is charged and paid, you will not be charged an additional graduation fee.
Enrollment in Absentia
Mississippi College policy requires that students be enrolled at the university the semester they plan to graduate. Enrollment in absentia is a special enrollment status created to assist affected students in satisfying this policy. Students who have received special permission from the Vice President for Academic Affairs to take their final credit hours at another institution, students who do not need to take additional courses to complete their degree but who need to finish requirements for those courses, or students who completed degree requirements in a prior semester but did not apply to graduate are among the students who may need enrollment in absentia. There is a $100 enrollment in absentia fee for undergraduate students and for graduate students participating in Thesis Management. This fee will be charged to your student account.
You must clear your accounts in the Business Office prior to graduation. Diplomas will not be issued or mailed to any student who has a hold on their account from the Business Office or Financial Aid Office. Additionally, you will not be able to pick up your cap and gown unless you have cleared your student account in the Business Office and in the Library and you have completed your Student Loan Exit Interview (if contacted by the Financial Aid Office).
