About Me
Growing up in Batesville, MS, I had many great teacher role models. I suppose I have always been a teacher. I was the one who asked for extra handouts to take home and "teach" my pets and stuffed animals, then later I practiced on the kids at VBS and Sunday School. I love learning, so a career in education interested me. After graduating from South Panola High School, I entered MC as a Freshmen and began preparing for the teaching profession. I received a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Education at Mississippi College and went on to teach elementary, middle and junior high students. I also earned a Ph.D in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi and began my teaching career at Mississippi College.
At MC I serve as Chair for the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership, as well as the sponsor for Nenamoosha and Kappa Delta Pi. You can usually find me somewhere in Lowrey Hall!
I am also Mom to two elementary age children. They keep me active and entertained. I am married to an MC grad, and we live just outside Clinton.
