Emily Williams

Welcome to Emily Williams' Violin Studio!

Emily has been teaching adjunct violin at MC since the Fall of 2011. She accepts all students who wish to further their abilities playing violin. Students will study scales, etudes, and the general rudiments of violin technique in addition to a broad range of repertoire, including emphasis on musicality and musical interpretation.

Come join Emily's studio for a rewarding musical experience!

Emily is married to Benjamin Williams, Assistant Professor of theory and composition at MC.

About Me

Emily Williams plays with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and runs a private studio of violin and viola students out of her home in Clinton. She is an active performer on the MC campus and in the Clinton/Jackson areas.

Emily holds a MM in Violin Performance from the University of Akron and a BA in music with an emphasis in Violin Performance from Cedarville University in Ohio. Emily's principle teachers include Linda Sinanian, Stacey Woolley and Alan Bodman.

Emily resides with her husband Benjamin in Clinton MS.

"My goal as a teacher is to make myself obsolete." - Alan Bodman

Just as parents raise their children to become self-sufficient mature capable adults, Emily hopes that all students coming through her studio leave having acquired the skills they need to be competent, accomplished musicians, proficient at their art with the ability to instruct themselves and with a knowledge of the violin beyond that which they had upon their arrival.

Lessons are scheduled individually based on the student and instructor's availability. Contact the music office at 601.925.3440 or email at for more information on signing up for lessons.
