Bobby Franklin


About Me

Dr. Bobby Franklin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education.  He comes to Mississippi College from the Louisiana Department of Education.  There he served as the Director of the Division of Planning, Analysis, and Information Resources overseeing the research and data collection efforts of the agency. Dr. Franklin is a former high school chemistry teacher and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University, Our Lady of the Lake College, and the University of Phoenix where he taught research methods, business research, biostatistics and chemistry. He holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.Ed. from Auburn University, and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. Dr. Franklin is a member of the NCATE Board of Examiners and served on the National Forum on Education Statistics, Education Information Advisory Committee of the Council of Chief State School Officers.  He is a member of the American Educational Research Association, and the Mid-South Educational Research Association. He is the co-author of eight publications in refereed scholarly journals and has made presentations at numerous national and regional professional meetings. His research interests include dropout and graduation rates, school performance/effectiveness, school grade span, and teacher quality.
