Mary Ann Henriques
Hello and welcome to Mississippi College. I am Dr. Mary Ann Henriques. Teaching in the School of Nursing has been my privilege for almost twenty years. If you are already considering Nursing, then GREAT! If you are unsure about what you might want to study, then come talk to me in Cockroft Hall. Nursing offers an individual multiple opportunities as a career. Since I heard God's call to me many years ago, I have never regretted my decision to enter the field of nursing. Let's talk. Maybe nursing is where you should be as well!
About Me
I am originally from Newton, MS in Newton County. I am a proud graduate of Newton High School. From there I attended Mississippi College and was one of the first graduates from the Mississippi College School of Nursing. Several years later, I attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received my Masters of Nursing with a clinical focus in Psychiatric-Mental Health. Then once again after several years, I received my PhD in Education Administration- Higher Education from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Along with teaching full-time at Mississippi College, I work part-time at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as the Performance Improvement Nurse for Emergency Medicine. That is certainly an interesting part of my life.
I have two wonderful children: Jennifer (also a graduate of Mississippi College) is married to Patrick Thomas (Mississippi State). They are parents to two great joys in my life- Emma Claire and Joshua. Jonathan (also a Mississippi College graduate) is married to Kristy Miller Henriques (Belhaven) and they are parents to my grand dog- Bach.
I live in the Flowood, MS area with my three Cocker Spaniel girls - Molly, Honey and Nattie.
I am a member of First Baptist Church Jackson and soon will be rejoining the Sanctuary Choir after having been on a leave of absence.
My life is very full with work, friends, church, and most importantly, family.
