I am the Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics, and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Mississippi College. I am also an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Neuroscience and Anatomy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. I earned a Ph.D. in Neurobiology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. My scientific interest is in the area of Central Nervous System injury, which would include trauma to the brain such as head trauma or stroke, and spinal cord injury. The courses that I teach will prepare students for professional schools, e.g., medical school or dental school as well as graduate school. Since I received my formal education in a medical school, the content of the courses that I teach are very clinically oriented. My goal is to give my students the best possible training in preparation for postbaccalaureate education.
