Karen Lindsey-Lloyd

Karen Lindsey-Lloyd joined Mississippi College in 2007 as Director of Career Services. In 2012, she was named Associate Vice President of Student Success. In this role, she sets strategic direction for the Student Success and Career Services departments, implements new initiatives, measures results, manages staff and actively coaches students on how to create an effective personal brand for academic and career success. She is the Chair of the university’s Retention Committee and serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for Mississippi College.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen has 20 years of corporate communications, media and marketing experience in various industries and states. Prior to moving to Mississippi, she served as Director of Field Development for a Fortune 500 financial services company headquartered in Wisconsin. She was responsible for implementing national recruitment, retention and market development programs. She has served as a speechwriter and reputation management coach to several top business executives. Karen has held corporate communications, media relations and marketing positions with the Chicago Tribune, U.S. Bank and Wisconsin Gas (now WE Energies). She worked as a contract marketing consultant to the U.S. Army for Distance Learning Programs where she completed assignments in Washington, D.C. and Germany for the Department of Defense.
In 2011, she was named one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Businesswomen by the Mississippi Business Journal. She is a member of the National Association for Professional Women, the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers.
Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master’s degree in Applied Communication from Mississippi College. She is conducting her doctoral studies in higher education administration and organizational leadership at Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. She is a nationally certified fitness instructor and when she is not consulting, working in higher education or traveling with her husband Michael, she teaches spinning and other fitness classes at the Baptist Healthplex to maintain a fit mind, body and spirit. She enjoys running and has completed several half marathons. She is a finisher of the 2011 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans.”
Dr. Lindsey-Lloyd co-hosted a talk-radio morning show and has written numerous articles for business journals and fitness publications. She is a motivational speaker and consultant to business executives, student, church and professional organizations on the topics of:

- Creating Effective Social Media Strategies (for Businesses or Personal Brands).
