“In 2007, my 11-year-old sister died after suffering severe brain damage in a horse riding accident. As I listened to the disheartening words from the doctor, my only peace was found in God. As a compassionate friend who would embrace you during a time of loss, our heavenly Father gave me peace and a sense of understanding that this was for His glory. His peace comforted me and reminded me that she was in His presence for all eternity. Even though finding a sense of normalcy in the following days, weeks, and months was difficult, God drew me closer to Himself.
“Walking with God is not always easy. We live in an imperfect world and we will experience pain and defeat as well as joy and success. God is with us each day in spirit if we have a relationship with Him. Walking with God means yielding to His spirit’s leading, no matter what the cost. It means growing closer to the God of the universe day by day.”
