Forming a Team
The easiest way to get involved in team sports is to form a team on your own. Teams are often made up of people from the same residence hall, members of student organizations or just groups of friends who like to have fun and hang out together. To find out how many players you'll need for a complete team, browse through the Intramural Bylaws and Rules.
How to Register
Once you've got a team together, you'll need to register. Each sport has its own registration period. Keep your eyes open for registration dates. All sport registration takes place on IMLeagues.com. Visit our Sign Up page for more information. We advise registering as early as possible for each sport or event.
Mandatory Captains Meeting
Once you've registered a team, you or a teammate MUST attend the mandatory captains meeting for the sport. Someone must be designated as the team captain. The date, time, and place of the captains' meeting is available on the Schedule page, and it will also be emailed to every team captain. Even if you're an expert in the sport, you or a teammate still MUST come to the mandatory captains meeting. If you're not at the meeting, we'll DROP your team from the league immediately. The captains meeting covers the sports rules, eligibility requirements for your players, and other Intramural policies and procedures.
Regular Season Schedules & Team Rosters
Regular Season Brackets will be published on IMLeagues.com once registration has ended and before regular season play begins. Simply check out the IMLeagues.com and you'll know whom you play throughout the season. On the night of your game your team members should arrive at least 15 minutes early in case of any unforeseen circumstances. You cannot add players at any time after the captains meeting. The players on your roster at that time are final. Players can only play on ONE team at a time and once a player has joined a team he/she cannot switch to another team without coming by the IM Sports Office to ask for a transfer. There is another meeting for the team captain to notify their playoff position. More about the playoff structure, sportsmanship, and other IM sports requirements will be discussed at the captains meeting prior to the season.
