Mississippi College

John D. Hunt

Motto: If you are not having fun teaching, then your students are not having fun learning!

My life's journey began in China where I attended a boarding school while my parents were missionaries there. My parents and teachers instilled in me a love of God, children, teaching and science. My formal education continued in England and Canada and I ended up at Lamar University in Texas on a track scholarship. I studied biology and became a teacher. I taught K- college level classes for over 41 years in the United States and overseas before arriving at Mississippi College. I still love God, children, teaching and science and try to instill this passion in my education students so that they can instill these values in their students.

My research interests are:

* Differentiated Instruction (D.I.),
* Understanding by Design (UbD),
* Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and
* Conceptual Learning in Science.

Welcome!
