The Service-Learning Faculty Scholars Committee is currently accepting applications from faculty and staff to participate in MC’s inaugural Service-Learning Faculty Scholars Program for the Spring 2013 semester. The Service-Learning Faculty Scholars Program is an extended, professional development opportunity for full-time Mississippi College faculty and staff interested in experiential education and “hands-on” learning that benefits the community.  We encourage applications from faculty and staff in all disciplines. The six applicants selected to participate in the program will receive a $1,000 stipend for regular participation in a 10-week discussion group; be provided the opportunity to reinvigorate their pedagogy by creating a revised syllabus which incorporates service-learning into one of their courses; and enjoy laughter, challenge, and collegiality and the opportunity to collaborate with their peers.

All application materials are due by Friday, January 25, 2013 in either hard copy or electronically to:

Kristi Richard Melancon, Assistant Professor of English

301 Jennings Hall
