About Me
My teaching is based in large measure upon two careers: one of reporting and writing for newspapers, broadcast, public relations … and one of studying about and teaching those techniques. I understand the pressure of news deadlines and demanding editors … the pressures of public relations to maintain favorable publicity for the organization and for the boss.
I hold two ranks: Adjunct Professor of Journalism, Mississippi College … Professor Emeritus of Journalism, Texas A&M University–College Station.

Part of the team of journalists whose reporting of the effects and aftermath of a tornado that ravaged the business district of Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1953 helped the Vicksburg Post–Herald win the 1954 Pulitzer Prize.
Professional Experience Public Relations
Public relations professional: wrote news releases and speeches for the Florida State Treasurer and Insurance Commissioner … for the Lieutenant Governor in the Florida State Department of Commerce.
Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) … elected to the PRSA College of Fellows.
