Mississippi College

Tip of the week

Want to save money on your home energy bill this winter? Lower all of your setpoints a little while you are at home, or away. Use a blanket at home instead of turning the thermostat up. Remember, a lower setting is better.

Choctaw Conservation Award

The winner of the Choctaw Energy Award for the April 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014  is the Leland Speed Library / Learning Resource Center staff. The library is one of the most often used buildings on our campus and requires a great deal of monitoring by the staff to ensure maximum energy savings. The library staff members, under the direction of Kathleen Hutchison, are diligent in turning off unnecessary equipment, lights, and computer monitors throughout the building.

The next winner will be announced in the first week of October 2014. The audits will cover July 1, 2014 to September 30, 2014. Please remember that every effort counts. Everyone can contribute by being aware of energy-saving opportunities in offices, work rooms, classrooms, and hallways.

Please check the Cost Avoidance tab on this webpage for up-to-date energy savings.
