Some years ago we engaged in a special effort to upgrade selected lighting and heating and cooling systems on the campus and we have lowered our use of energy as a result. We will continue these improvements.
Now we have progressed to a new phase in our efforts to conserve energy by entering a partnership with Cenergistic, Inc, a Texas-based firm that has helped over 1400 educational organizations nationwide reduce energy consumption. Working with Energy Education, we have launched various initiatives under the able leadership of Dr. Tom Williams, that will help us become better stewards of our resources as we further conserve energy and save money for years to come.
This Energy Education Program is not a short term "fix". It represents a comprehensive, rigorous and data driven program tailored to fit our needs and expectations. We will engage all members of the University community in changing the habits affecting how we use energy resources in each building, office and classroom on campus. We are so fortunate that Dr. Tom Williams, after a distinguished career as an educator on and off the MC campus, continues his education career, by educating all of us on how we can become better stewards of our resources and save energy costs devoting resources to more strategic purposes.
Please participate fully in this critical multi-year effort. Your work in monitoring your area will contribute greatly to our success. Thanks for the good work you do in making Mississippi College a great place for our students.
