Randolph B. Miley
Professor and Chair - Art
Dr. Randy Miley currently serves as Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of Art. He recently completed his 25th year at MC. Dr. Miley holds degrees in Art Education from the University of Southern Mississippi (BFA), Mississippi College (MEd), and Florida State University (PhD). He also completed studies in art education at the University of Florida and the University of Louisiana, Monroe. Dr. Miley’s teaching experience includes art teaching at two middle schools and two high schools. He also taught at Florida State University and served as the art education coordinator at the University of Louisiana, Monroe, for 9 years.
Dr. Miley has received numerous awards, including the Mississippi Art Educator of the Year in 1985 & 2000. He was awarded the Louisiana Art Educator Award in 1994. While at MC, Miley was awarded the Distinguished Humanities Lecturer (’07). Dr. Miley is a watercolor painter and papermaker. He currently teaches in those areas and exhibits his artwork locally.
