Jim Rosenblatt
Professor of Law and Dean Emeritus - School of Law
Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law Jim Rosenblatt joined MC Law in 2003 and was its dean for 11 years before moving to the faculty in August 2014. He is a graduate of Cornell Law School and served worldwide in The Judge Advocate General's Corps (Army) for 30 years. His subjects include an International Law course in the Korean Summer Study program, Government Contracts, and Military Law and Operations. He has written law review articles about dealing and judges, speaks at CLE offerings, and host Rosenblatt's Deans Database (lawdeans.com) which provides information about law school deans.
Dean Rosenblatt was twice the recipient of the Chief Justice’s Award (Supreme Court of Mississippi) and received the Deborah L. Rhode Award from the Association of American Law Schools for his support of pro bono and public interest work.
Dean Rosenblatt serves as the Executive Director of the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and as the faculty advisor for MC Law student organizations to include the Oil & Gas Lawyers Association, Phi Alpha Delta, the Military Justice Society, the MC Law chapter of Ducks Unlimited, and the MC Law Student Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He enjoys judging Moot Court competitions at the law school, college, and high school levels.
In the community, Dean Rosenblatt serves as the President of the Greenwood Cemetery Association—the old historic cemetery in downtown Jackson—and is active in the landscaping work of the Cemetery.
