MCares
The MCares Fund provides emergency aid to current MC students to ensure they have housing, food, and other forms of support they need to continue their studies at Mississippi College.

Academics
Students can call or email their professors to request a time to speak with them. Log into the faculty Moodle page to access the faculty and staff directory. Contact information can also be found at mc.edu/faculty.
All students with special accommodations should communicate with their individual professors. Arrangements will be made to meet the student’s needs.
Yes. All final exams will be conducted online. MC instructors will be in touch with their students to explain how exams will be structured and conducted.
Yes. MC understands these are uncertain times. The university does not want economic uncertainty or hardship to keep students from returning to MC.
Students who owe a balance for the spring 2020 semester but wish to return in the summer or fall should register for classes now. Payment deferments may be available for students facing economic challenges due to the COVID-19 crisis. More information on possible deferments and grace periods will be available in the coming weeks.
The bookstore is currently open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Operation hours will continue to change throughout the next few weeks, so please visit the website for updated hours.

Yes. The Writing Center will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 1 through July 30. Two types of online consultations are available: Online Chat appointments where you meet online with a writing tutor and Correspondence appointments where you upload your work and receive written feedback within 24 hours. Commencement
Yes. You may contact our supplier in Jackson, R. M. Hendrick Graduate Supply House, for information on personal rentals. Please email the service department.
No. Graduation fees are nonrefundable and will apply towards the future ceremony scheduled for May 2020 graduates. Information regarding the new event will be shared through MC email.

Yes. Crisis counseling services are still available to students at all times. If you need crisis counseling, please call the Office of Public Safety at -601-925-3204.
No. For the rest of the semester, all group meetings have been canceled. If you are part of a group, your group “facilitator” will contact you about your options for services.
Health Services
Regular MC Clinic hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please make every effort to contact the clinic by telephone by 4:00 pm for direction after hours. The clinic remains open to the community until 7:00 pm. Student Health Care Services can be reached at 601-924-9005.
Yes. Student Health Services now offers smart phone and video visit capabilities with the Baptist Healthplex Clinic. Please call 601-924-9005 to set up a call with one of the staff members during MC clinic hours.
Financial Aid
MC encourages you to call the Office of Financial Aid to speak with a counselor at 601-925-3212 or email financialaid@mc.edu. The financial aid office will remain open during normal business hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.).
Counselors from the financial aid office can evaluate your circumstances and increase your cost of education budget to cover illness-related expenses. Please contact the financial aid office to request a professional judgment form. Please note that documentation of the extra expenses will be required.
Counselors in the financial aid office can reassess your family’s ability to help with your educational expenses if employment is affected by an illness and income this year will be significantly less than the income reported on your FAFSA (2017 income was reported on the FAFSA for 19/20). Email financialaid@mc.edu for the appropriate forms.
Study Abroad
We will work closely with you and your academic advisor to provide an
alternate way to meet that requirement. There are many schools abroad who provide online instruction. We will coordinate a plan with them for classes and cultural integration online.

- T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers with current plans with limited data will automatically have unlimited smartphone data for the next 60 days (excluding roaming). No action is required. More info →

Facilities, Services & Residence Halls
Yes. The Leland Speed Library will be open on a limited basis during Summer Session 2 starting Thursday, June 27. Safety guidelines will restrict access to study rooms and computer/printer areas. The basement area collection and study areas will remain closed. Off campus access to databases, Ask-A-Librarian, and Interlibrary Loan services for article requests will continue when the building is closed.

The Leland Speed Library will close to the public Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 16 to prepare for the fall academic term.
All athletic facilities - including the weight room, track, and tennis courts - are closed to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Please contact the relevant professor and arrange a time to procure your items or attend your meeting. Please ask your professor to email Public Safety at security@mc.edu to request that you be given access to the building. Ask your professor to advise Public Safety via email that you will need access.
