The United States Congress recently approved the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that includes support for higher education, including emergency aid grants to students facing expenses related to COVID-19. Mississippi College has received an allocation of funds and we are ready to begin distributing those funds to qualified applicants through MCares. The application deadline for priority funding through ARPA will be March 15, 2022.

COVID-19 has disrupted our daily lives and left our futures uncertain, but it has not changed the love and concern the Mississippi College community feels for our students.

Emergency assistance for currently enrolled students is available from two sources:  the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplement Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) and from gifts provided by alumni and friends through MCares.

Both of these sources provide emergency aid to current MC students to ensure they have housing, food, and other forms of support they need to continue their studies at Mississippi College. Certain eligibility requirements will affect the CRRSAA funds, but we encourage any student who has a need to apply for assistance.

Even with their own lives interrupted, members of our community have asked how they can help care for those students hit hardest by the pandemic.

While we can expect the COVID-19 pandemic to impact all of our lives for months to come, the impact of donations to MCares will reach even further. Donors to MCares are modeling the unchanging love of Christ, and students who accept help are being equipped to show that same unchanging love to future generations.
