Mississippi College students, faculty, staff and Clinton residents can travel back to when the local burger joint was the most popular place in town by visiting Brick Street Burgers, now open at 200 Jefferson Street in Olde Towne Clinton.

Juicy, made-from-scratch, double-patty smash burgers. Creamy, ice-cold milkshakes topped with a candy or fruit garnish. Generous servings of steak-cut fries seasoned to perfection.

There’s plenty to love at the new restaurant located next door to the Mississippi College Bookstore in what was previously known as Pimento’s deli. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays, BSB serves up “happiness on a plate,” according to one patron who attended the restaurant’s grand opening on Feb. 3.

The restaurant is named for the legendary roads in Olde Towne. The brick flooring inside the restaurant helps convey a distinctly Clinton atmosphere, and diner-style booths beckon guests to grab a menu and spend some quality time with their friends.

When Mississippi College contracted with MMI Food Services to be the University’s campus vendor, the vacant space was prioritized as a potential site for a new restaurant.

“The space has been unused for some time and we needed to focus on providing Mississippi College students with another exceptional dining option,” said Steve Smith, MMI director of food services.

MMI reached out to MC students to help determine a theme for the new restaurant and the food that would be available. The idea was to create a small menu not offered anywhere else on campus.

MC and MMI offer a campus dining program on MC’s main campus that also includes the Caf; Chick-fil-A and Einstein Bros. Bagels in the Commons; and the Speed Library Coffee Shop. MMI owns and operates the space where Brick Street Burgers is located. Dajania Yost serves as the restaurant’s manager.

“Outside guests are welcome and encouraged, but our focus is on our students,” Smith said. “I’m looking forward to serving the campus and community with Brick Street Burgers.”

Students may use their food service points and bonus points at BSB. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted. For more information about the restaurant, email Smith at ajsmith3@mc.edu.
