Mississippi College executive leaders are proud to welcome two valuable additions to the Christian University’s faculty and administrative staff.

Brittany N. Meacham, M.S.N.

Brittany N. Meacham, an experienced Registered Nurse who has served as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Mississippi College, has joined the MC School of Nursing faculty as a full-time nursing instructor.

Dr. Kimberly Sharp, dean of the School of Nursing at MC, praised Meacham for her ability to help first-semester clinical students learn skills and gain confidence while also completing her nursing educator program of study at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

“We were impressed with her energy and enthusiasm,” Sharp said. “She is very creative in identifying ways to engage students, and that assists them to participate more effectively in solidifying what they learn.”

Sharp said Meacham is working to support students in the school’s community health nursing programming.

“We have a large cohort of students, and the student placements are scattered through many different agencies in and around our communities,” Sharp said. “So she will be busy checking on student placements in schools, vaccination clinics, testing centers, senior care, hospice, home health care, rehab settings, etc.

“We are delighted to have Brittany with us, and she has already begun to infuse her own special style into the School of Nursing.”

After graduating third in her class in the Practical Nursing Program in 2010 and completing the L.P.N. to R.N. Bridge Program cum laude in 2013 at Hinds Community College’s Vicksburg campus, Meacham completed the R.N. to B.S.N. Program at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 2017, and then earned her master’s in nursing education summa cum laude at UMMC in 2021.

She has more than 11 years of health care experience, having served as a nurse technician, an L.P.N. II, and an R.N. in the clinic and hospital setting in areas of maternal-child, pediatrics, and allergy; as an R.N./case manager/cardiac resource nurse in the home health setting; and in administrative/lead nursing.

An active member of the Theta Beta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honorary society, Meacham has given four invited presentations on health care topics in Mississippi.

Kasia L. Twiner, B.S.W.

Kasia L. Twiner, administrative assistant at Pinelake Church in Clinton, has joined the Mississippi College staff as assistant director for residential operations.

Seth Brill, director of residence life at MC, said Twiner brings years of higher education experience to the Residence Life team, and had previously served on its staff.

“Her addition to the Residence Life team will help make residential living operate at a higher efficiency and with greater care for our students,” Brill said. “Kasia will be responsible for all components of the residential housing process. This includes assisting students with housing applications, the signup process, and all room and meal plan changes.

“Kasia will also play a vital role in training future professional and paraprofessional staff on how to operate our housing management system. We are thrilled to have her on the team.”

Twiner, who obtained her Bachelor of Social Work degree from MC in 2006, attended seminary in New Orleans and served stints as an administrative assistant at Horizon Community Church in Ridgeland and as a support coordinator/case manager for Quality Support Coordination in Covington, Louisiana, before returning to MC in 2010 as resident director/student life assistant.

She joined Hinds Community College in 2014 as a distance learning navigator on the Raymond campus, and two years later, became a student care coordinator at Belhaven University. She had served at Pinelake Church since 2019.

Twiner said she and her husband, William, also an MC graduate, love living in Clinton with their daughter, Magnolia Joyce, 3, and their two dogs, Phin and Newt.
