Day of Giving 2023 Success!
Online event seeks to strengthen student engagement programs at MC!
Mississippi College’s first Day of Giving was a great success! On Jan. 24, MC celebrated Founder’s Day and hosted the inaugural Day of Giving. Funds raised this winter benefited Student Engagement at Mississippi College. A total of $15,000 went to meaningful traditions and programming such as Follies, Swerve, the Lighting of the Quad and other events managed by the Office of Student Engagement.
For the first time, alumni and friends of MC had the opportunity to join the Founders Day party from afar and support Student Engagement efforts during the Day of Giving. Alumni and friends of MC could make a gift through the Day of Giving webpage. To lend a spirit of competition to the festivities, donors could select a social club or tribe on campus to “support” with their donation.
Student Engagement provides services and opportunities that foster leadership development through student involvement. The office equips students with the skills and experiences to help them discover their created purpose and strengths while empowering them to use their talents to serve and embrace their place on campus and in the Kingdom.
A “sweet” relationship began between two Kissimee presidents- “Jean Williams, Class of 1955 and Carly Fisher, Class of 2023 – during lunch at the Latimer House. Williams presented a gift on behalf of Kissimee for MC’s Day of Giving.
“It was exciting to see the MC family come together to support the University,” Pace said “We are grateful for everyone for their support and commitment by giving back to the place that they love.
“ The MC Foundation hopes to continue to improve and elevate MC’s Day of Giving to keep the enthusiasm and excitement alive.”
