There are many levels of giving — each one associated with a Giving Society, and each one important to the life of the Mississippi College community. Mace Bearers Society
Established in 1996, the Mace Bearers is comprised of alumni and friends who have contributed $10,000 or more per year.
Qualifications for membership:
- An outright gift of $10,000 or more in cash or securities annually.
- A gift of real property or a gift-in-kind (equipment, materials, supplies, etc.) valued at $10,000 or more, which is accepted and can be used by the university annually.
- A gift annuity of $10,000 or more annually.
Use of Gifts:
- Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program.
- Gifts may be designated for unrestricted use by the university.
Publicity (unless anonymity is requested):
- In special circumstances, press releases are prepared on Mace Bearers' donations. A press release might be written with more of a feature angle and include quotes from the donor, advancement officer, and President of the university.
Daniel Comfort Society
Members of the Daniel Comfort Society are donors who contribute $5,000 - $9,999 per year.
Qualifications for membership:
- An annual gift of $5,000 - $9,999 in cash or securities.
- A gift of real property or a gift-in-kind (equipment, materials, supplies, etc.) valued between $5,000 - $9,999, which is accepted and can be used by the university annually.
Use of Gifts:
- Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program.
- Gifts may be designated for unrestricted use.
President's Associates
Members of the President's Associates are donors who contribute $1,000 - $4,999 per year.
Qualifications for membership:
- An annual gift of $1,000 - $4,999 in cash or securities.
- A gift of real property or a gift-in-kind (equipment, materials, supplies, etc.) valued between $1,000 - $4,999, which is accepted and can be used by the university annually.
Use of Gifts:
- Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program.
- Gifts may be designated for unrestricted use.
Other Societies
The 1826 Society recognizes lifetime contributions of $1,000,000.00 or more to the university.
The Medallion Society recognizes donors who make contributions of $500 - $999 annually. Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program or for unrestricted use.
The Advancement Society recognizes donors who make contributions of $250 - $499 annually. Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program or for unrestricted use.
The Century Club recognizes donors who make contributions of $100 - $249 annually. Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program or for unrestricted use.
The Alumni Association Active Membership program recognizes donors who make any size contribution on an annual basis. Gifts may be designated to a particular academic discipline or university program or for unrestricted use.
