Student health services are provided through the Mississippi Baptist Health Systems, Inc. at the Baptist Healthplex, located on the Mississippi College Clinton campus. Routine health care services from the Nurse Practitioner and Baptist Health Systems Clinic are provided free of charge to all registered, full-time Mississippi College students who have paid the fixed fee.

Primary health care is provided by a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, during times as listed on our hours of operation. Health care is available at additional times through the Baptist Health Systems Clinic or through the Baptist Health Care Line telephone referral at 601.948.6262.

Students living in residence halls should consult their Resident Assistants for assistance with care before 8:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and on Saturdays and Sundays.

Scheduling, Appointments, Drop-Ins, Call-Ins

During the Clinic's morning service hours, patients will be seen in the same "sign-in order." In the afternoons, patients will be seen by appointments and scheduled in 10-15 minute increments. "Call-in" appointments can be made the same day or days ahead by calling the Clinic during its regular office hours. Those who "drop-in" without an appointment will be worked into the schedule as it allows. Of course, whether morning or afternoon, those assessed with a need for immediate attention will take priority for being seen.

Emergency Services

Because of the existing relationship between Mississippi College and Baptist Health Systems, it is recommended that emergency care be handled through Mississippi Baptist Medical Center Emergency Room.
