Assistant Professor - Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Mississippi College, a Christian university, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in the Fall of 2025.We seek applicates with the ability to teach introductory psychology and developmental psychology courses as well as upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in psychology, but ABDs completing their Ph. D. next academic year will also be considered. Candidates should be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising. In addition, candidates should have the ability to implement and integrate instructional technology in learning management systems in their coursework. Fulfilling important committee work within the department and across campus will also be expected in this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A completed doctorate or ABD in psychology from an accredited institution
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and the core values of Mississippi College
  • Ability to teach undergraduate coursework in the areas of introductory psychology and developmental psychology and other courses
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Ability to advise undergraduate students effectively and appropriately
  • Ability to work as a team player in a small, dynamic department
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
