We know that you are excited to come to Mississippi College, but we do ask that you do not have anything sent to campus before you move into your assigned dorm.
All students living on campus are assigned a mailbox number. Each resident is issued a mailbox key at the Mail Center in Alumni Hall at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. To receive your key, you must present your MC ID to the mail room staff. Once your ID is verified, you will sign out the key assigned to your mailbox. Only the actual ID holder may sign out their key.
Please note: We cannot give mailbox numbers out over the phone to protect the privacy of our students.
Your mailbox key is free at the beginning of the semester, if you lose the key you will have to pay a $5 fee for a replacement.
Please address student mail and packages in this manner:
YOUR NAME
BOX # _____
Mississippi College
200 S Capitol St. Clinton, MS 39058
Packages and mail should be addressed properly every time you send something or have something sent to you. If your mailbox number is not included on items sent to you, delivery may be delayed due to extra processing to locate your mailbox.
All packages, (USPS, UPS, FED EX) will be picked up at the Campus Operations department. All letter mail will be picked up at the Alumni Hall Location.
You will need to have your Mississippi College ID before picking up. Parents picking up for students will need to bring your student’s ID also.
Campus Operations will receive packages each day from USPS, UPS, and Fed EX. Please be aware that emails you receive from shippers are not an indication that your package is ready for pick-up. Employees at Campus Operations will scan and process each package and send a notification to the student stating that the package is ready for pick-up. Notification emails are only sent to your MC email.
As a general rule if the vendor will ship it we will receive it; however, it is imperative that larger items be picked up promptly once you have been notified of its arrival. Students are responsible for moving their large items to their final destination.
Upon receiving an item that is perishable, we will send an email notification, BUT please be advised that we do not have any refrigeration capabilities, so promptly picking up your item will be the best method to avoid spoilage.
The mailroom staff will sign on behalf of all on-campus students for all packages requiring a signature upon delivery.
YES!!! If you continue to live on campus, you keep your key and box #!
To return your key, check it in at the Alumni Hall Mail Center during normal business hours. Please do not slide your mailbox key under the mailroom door or leave it in your mailbox. Do not return your key to Residence Life. Missing or improperly returned keys will incur a fee of $20 on your student account.
